HOUSE SALE BY DAIRY COMPANY
Sir,—With your kind permission, may I state in reply to the letter by the chairman of the Midland Dairy Company in yesterday’s issue of your paper, that if he wants to go back into the ancient history of the factory, he will find that my father was the largest supplier to the factory from the time it opened until it closed down, and that he also supplied the old Lynnford creameries. I will give £2O to any named charity if Mr Oakley can produce evidence that I have sent less milk to the factory than the buyer of the house. The chairman also stated that the price received was also a determining factor but this was not correct, as the directors of that company were offered a reserve price by me for the house, so that the price did not enter into it. As I have one of the largest herds in Canterbury, and I am a very large supplier of cream to Ashburton, I consider I received a very raw deal from the company. Mr Oakley stated that the buyer was a supplier, but he is not now and has not been for a number of years. I too, am a shareholder, and my father was before me. G. A. Parsons.
