AIR RACE TO N.Z.

UNITED STATES INTERESTED (Rec. 12.15.) NEW YORK, April 11. United States aircraft designers were “interested” in British plans for a 12,000-mile air race from England to New Zealand in 1953, the “New York World-Teiegram” said to-day. The newspaper quoted reports that the United States might enter a jet air-liner yet to be developed, and a Boeing strato-cruiser. ' . It said the United States might put a jet aircraft in the speed division of the race, and added that fast American jet fighters might have the edge over other aircraft in that section.
