FLOWER SHOW

FIXTURE AT EIFFELTON SPLENDID EXHIBITS Fine weather prevailed at Eiffelton for -the 15th annual flower show on Saturday. In declaring the show open Mr R. G. Gerard, M.P., remarked on the quality of the exhibits, and said that the residents of the Eiffelton district showed a fine community spirit. The judges in various sections were 'as follows: Flowers, cut and decorative, Mrs G. Scales; dahlia section, Mr and Mrs G. Scales; vegetables and fruit, Mr Scales; farm produce, Mr j. Cameron; handwork, Miss J. Bratley; cooking, Miss F. E. Vesty. All exhibits from the flower, cooking, fruit and vegetables sections and all unsold goods from the variety and produce stalls were sold by public auction in the evening. Mr J. Coffey Was the auctioneer. During the evening a mock court was held, causing much amusement and swelling the funds considerably. *A bowl of flowers judged by the most popular vote was won by Mrs Tasker.
