AUSTRIA SEEKS FREEDOM __ f (Rec. 10.0 a.m.) VIENNA, March 8. The Foreign Minister, Dr. Karl Gruber, told the Austrian Parliament today that Austria had asked the four Occupation PoAvers to reouce their forces in Austria, pay their own occupation costs, and relinquish most of their right in the country. Dr. Gruber said that the Note, listing 23 demands ranging from a reduction of troop strength to the elimination of all restrictions on road and river traffic, had been sent to Moscow London, Washington and Paris.
