FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS
(Rec. 12.10.) NEW YORK, Dec. 2. Fires and explosions in five widelyseparated sections of the United States to-day caused five deaths and did extensive damage. Mrs * Lucille Moore (25) and two baby sons were trapped in their beds and died when fire destroyed" their Inez (Kentucky) home. Two of 53 guests in an hotel at Supulpa (Oklahoma) are missing, after fire destroyed the hotel and several other buildings, causing damage estimated at 1,000,000 dollars. An early-morning gas explosion ripped open a street in Allentown ((Pennsylvania), causing damage to gas, water mains and buildings to the extent of nearly 1,000,000 dollars. A fire in a plastics factory- at Barberton (Ohio) gave off fumes that sent 26 firemen to hospital. Damage to the Matson freightei Hawaiian Rancfier, and her cargo, through..,a fire in the hold at Alemada (Cali£ol-nia) ran into several hundred, thousand dollars.
