BRITISH SCIENTISTS IN ANTARCTIC

RADIO COMMUNICATION MADE LONDON, December 2._ The Antarctic relief ship, Jolm Biscoe, which is making a new effort to rescue the 11 British scientists marooned on Stonington Island, southwest of Graham Land, spoke to them by radio-telephone to-day, but their replies werp almost inaudible because of interference from big Russian and American radio stations. Some of the men have been at their post for more than two years. A Reuter correspondent aboard the John Biscoe says the first step in the- rescue operation will be the setting up of an air base at Deception Island.
