“NUN” HAD BIG FEET
11 -« RETURNED TO PRISON CELL LONDON, Dec. 2. A cobbler thought the shoes of a nun who made door-to-door collections were very big. A cafe up the i oad thought her appetite and thirst for wine weij?e also very big, and police watching the cafe thought the nun took the wrong door when she went to'wash her hands. That is why an escaped dangerous criminal named Auguste Farinet is back in his old cell. .. Girl-faced, Auguste, a 42-year-old .confidence trickster, escaped from Sion Gaol in Switberland, broke into a nunnery, stole a Sister of Mercy’s robes and donned them. At a neaiby convent where no man was admitted he begged food and lodging. The convent nuns welcomed a “most pious sister,” and police who saw the sweetfaced nun begging alms raised their hats. Auguste prospered. When the cobbler’s suspicions were aroused by the size of Auguste’s feet, the police followed him. He had just Quaffed four pints of heady wine when they arrested him. In his nun s robe Auguste was led back to Sion gaol—male block.
