BATHED BY CHILDREN IN MOTHER S ABSENCE

(P.A.) BLENHEIM, This Day. , A oil-months-old baby was taken from its cot yesterday afternoon by some young children and given a bath. An hour later it died in hospital from shock. The baby was the son' of Mr and Mrs Ron Gardiner, of Churchill Street, Blenheim. He was put in his cot by his mother at 5 p.m., and during her temporary absence some children removed the child, undressed it, and placed it in a bath into which hot and cold taps were running. An older child made the discovery and rushed to summon the mother. Thp baby by this time was unconscious and it was rushed to the Wairau Hospital, where it died soon after admission.
