DEATH OCCURS IN ROME (11.30 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, Aug. 19. The “Vicar of the North Pole,” the 66--year-old Catholic padre, Primo Girard, Avhose parish covered 50,000 square miles of frozen desert, from Baffin Land to the North Pole, is dead. He lived in an igloo for 22 years and taught Christianity to the Eskimos.
