Three Centuries Recorded (Rec. 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 18. The New Zealand batsmen showed what they could do against mediocre bowling when they hit up 417 for three wickets declared in the first innings against Durham at Sunderland. Scott, Smith and Mooney scored centuries, and 400 came up in just over four hours. Eabone partnered Scott in giving the New Zealanders a good start with an opening stand of 138. Smith and Moonev especially thrilled the crowd when they came together, adding an unbeaten 218 runs in 122 minutes. Moonev hit 15 boundaries and Smith 14.
