ROOK SHOP DAMAGED

FIRE STARTS IN PACKING SHED

(P.A.) HASTINGS, April 17. Damage to the premises and stock of a book shop owned by Mr Poster Brook occurred in a fire at 7.30 a.m. to-day. The outbreak began among waste paper in a packing shed at the rear of the premises. Although the outbreak was prevented by the brigade from spreading, damage in the shop amounted to several hundred pounds was done to stock by smoke and water. It was the third fire to have occurred within two days at the rear of buildings in the town, all of them apparently starting in rubbish. The other two. were reported simultaneously, one of them being in its _ incipient stages and the other _ causing _ fairly severe damage to municipal buildings..
