American policy in China js having repercussions in Saudi-Arabia, where the United States is trying to. get longterm rights to strategic bomber liases; says the United Press. i Arab feeling is that the United States betrayed China to the Communists was reported to-day _to have ‘'snarled up” the negotiations with King Ibn Saud, oE Saudi-Arabia, for a new American lease of the bomber base at Dhahran. The three-year lease of the base' expired, on March 15, but United States planes were continuing to use it under a temporary agreement. Diplomatic sources said' to-day that before renewing the lease on a longterm basis, King Ibn Sand wants a firm assurance that the United States would stand by him in the event of anv Russian move against the Arab world. Some American officials said that King Ibn Sand’s fears were in process of being allayed and that a new agreement on Dhahran would soon bo completed.
