OPENING RUN
ASHBURTON HUNT FOLLOWERS Over a trail across grass paddocks, involving, some 12 jumps over gorse hedges, a paper-chase was held on Saturday at the farm of Mr G. Lysagbt? Fairton. The occasion was the opening run of the season of the Ashburton branch of the Christchurch Hunt Club.
In glorious weather, some 30 members, including a few children, followed the trail, laid by the field-master, Mr W. R. Lemon.
Jumping competitions were judged by Mr I-I. M. Copland. . Results were: Maiden, J. Brick's Gaiety 1; open, A. B. Rechney’s Dark Game 1, Miss Shirley Lowery's Fantasy 2.
