MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
PILLION RIDER INJURED ' (P.A.) ' • DUNEDIN, April 17. When the motor-cycle lie was riding struck a power pole on Musselburgh rise this evening, Jeffrey Hall, a married man, aged 35, of 6 Michie Street. Roslyn, Avas killed instantly. A ]>illion rider, Douglas Stuart Boyle, married, aged 41,-of S Harbour Terrace, Ravensbourne, was admitted to the Dunedin Public Hospital suffering from fractured ribs and slight concussion. His condition was reported to be satisfactory this evening.
MOTOR-CYCLIST DIES FROM INJURIES (P.A.) ' GISBORNE, April 17. A motor-cyclist, George Leonard Needham, aged 19, a clerk, who was sent to the Cook Hospital on Thursday night _ suffering from serious injuries, which he received in a collision with -a car, died early this morning.
He was a son of Mr and Mrs L. Needham, of Whakatane, and had been working in Gisborne for some months.
BOY SERIOUSLY INJURED IN COLLISION (P.A.) NAPIER, April 16. Severe head injuries were received by Clarence Metcalf, aged 13, of Napier, when a van in which he was travelling was involved in a collision with a light truck at Port Aluiriri (his morning. The driver of the truck, John William Tait, and' the van driver, Frank Harvey Jones, escaped injury. Metcalf was admitted to the Napier Hospital. His condition is serious.
MAN’S BODY FOUND IN SEA (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 17. The body.of a man of about 60 to 65 years was found floating about 300 yards from the foreshore at Oriental Bay by wharf police about 11 a.m. today. The body is at present unidentified. It appeared to have been in the .water only a short time.
