EIFFELTON COUNTRY GIRLS’ CLUB
END OF SEASON SOCIAL As the Eiffelton Country Girls’ Club goes into recess until March, the end of the season was marked by a social and dance in the Eiffelton Hall last Thursday night, the guests of. the evening being members of the Hinds and Tinwald Young Farmers Clubs. The first part of the evening was spent in games and competitions interspersed .with dances. _ After a very enjoyable supper supplied by the girls, continuous dancing was enjoyed to music supplied -by Miss B. Taylor and Mr It. Cocks. Mr R. Read played popular airs on the bagpipes for dancing. Mr Cliff Lill (president of Hinds, Y:F.C.) obliged the girls by carrying out'the duties of master of ceremonies for the dance.
. Competitions were won. by Miss S. Cocks, and Miss S. Cocks and Mr D. McKenzie. Novelty dances were won by Miss N. Daly ■ and Mr W. Chalmers and Miss J. Johnstone and Mr W. Small. Items were as follows:—Miss C. Lill, piano solo, “Polish Dance” ; Miss J. Johnstone, vocal solo, ’ “VillanelleP ; Miss S. Cocks, elocution. “La Bourguise”; Miss E. Lill, vocal solo, “Meadow Sweet.” On behalf of the Hinds and Tinwald Young Farmers’ Clubs respectively Mr C. Lift and E. Bryant thanked the girls for their hospitality. In responding, Miss J. McQuilkin, president of the Country Girls’ Club, said she hoped everybody had enjoyed themselves, and thanked the boys for making it such a success.
