SOUTHLAND SUPPORT FOR HAREWOOD
/ DEVELOPMENT OF AIRPORT URGED (P.A.) DUNEDIN, November IG. The development of Harewood should be advanced without delay now that the aviation mission’s experts have agreed that the aerodrome offers the most suitable site for the South Island overseas air terminal. This is the opinion of the Otago and Southland Manufacturers’ Association expressed in a minute recorded at the meeting of its executive council last night. The association says that there should be a complete subjugation of parochial interests to get behind the South Island claims for a long-needed air terminal without delay. Invercargill manufacturers, have declared their full support of the Otago association and the terms of the minute have been forwarded to the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association.
