ACTION AGAINST KU KLUX KLAN
Move by Governor of Georgia ________ c (Rec. 9.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 22. The Governor of Georgia (Mr Melvin E. Thompson) has ordered the State Attorney-General to act on charges that the Ku Klux Klan has been assaulting both negroes and whites. Mr Thompson said: The Klans motives cannot be honourable. It t y were, they would move in the ope and not wear hoods. Georgia citizens should show the world that the majority of Georgians are loyal Amer.C3 Assuranees of support, for the Governor came from the mayors of som cities in which the Ku Klux Klan has intimidated people or demonstrated.
