ROLL OF HONOUR

HAKATERE LODGE UNVEILING CEREMONY A roll of honour bearing the names of 34 members'of Hakatere Lodge, No. 6S, who served in World War 11, including two who-, made the supreme sacrifice, was unveiled on Monday evening by Mrs J. Johnston. Bro. W. Barrett, D.D.G.M., presided over a good attendance of brethren and visitors. • After a welcome had been extended to the Rev. F. Bateup, of Willowby, and Mr W. V. Joyce (president) and Mr C. Denham (secretary) of the Ashburton Returned Services’ Association, the meeting was handed over to Mr Bateup. Appropriate addresses were delivered by both Mr Bateup and Mr Joyce. Hymns suitable to the occasion were sung and also a solo by Mrs K. G. Fowke. The accompanist for the evening was Mrs J. Whyte. After the ceremony supper was provided by the lodge members.
