AUCKLAND CUP OVER £IO,OOO (p.A.) AUCKLAND, July 27. The Auckland Racing Club has decided that the stake for the Auckland Cup to be run at Ellerslie on Boxing Day shall be £IO,OOO, with a gold cup valued at. £IOO. In addition, £250 will he awarded to the trainer of the winner.

The stake offered will be the most valuable in the history of racing in New Zealand and equals that now offered for the Melbourne Cup. The previous highest stake offered in racing in New Zealand was £6OOO for the 1946 Auckland Cup. i
