SCOTTISH GIRL SWIMMER (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. A IG-year-old Scottish girl, Cathie Gibson, by establishing two records last Friday, and a third yesterday, was the outstanding performer at the British national swimming championships at Hastings. Miss Gibson on Friday won the 440 yards women’s freestyle in smin 23.2 sec—6sec better than her own previous British record. In the 220 yards event she returned 2min 29.25ec, beating her own British record of 2min 31.5 sec. Miss Gibson yesterday beat the European title-holder, the French girl, Monique Berkoux, in the 100 yards backstoke, in 70.4scc.
