THOUSANDS MAKE INSPECTION (Rec. 11.15) MELBOURNE, This Day. i Over 32,000 persons waited in queues in Woolloomooloo for three hours to inspect the four visiting warships of the Royal Navy. About. 25,000 were allowed aboard, but thousands were turned away when the inspection hours expired. The crowd was well behaved, and neither the police nor ships’ officers reported any pilfering of the ships’ equipment and supplies or damage to gear.
The most popular were the aircraft carriers Glory and Theseus.
