RADAR PROJECT
CHRISTCHURCH PARTY’S VISIT About 50 young people of the Christchurch Churches of Christ were the guests of the Ashburton Church of Christ on Saturday. The party arrived about mid-day and was entertained to a picnic lunch at the home of Mr and Mrs E. A. Scott. During the afternoon they were shown over the radar station, having the “Canterbury Project” explained to them by a member of the staff. They travelled to Wakanui Beach, where* Mr B. F. Anderson, of the radar staff, gave a demonstration of a New Zealand-built set in operation. Following tea at the Church of Christ Hall, a sdcial evening was held, Mr A. D. Lowe acting as master of ceremonies. Refreshments were served by Misses E. Scott and M. Dolbey and Mrs A. D. Lowe.
The party returned to Christchurch by private cars the same evening.
