INVERCARGILL TRUST GRANTS
£llOO GIVEN Tt> BOY SCOUTS’ ASSOCIATION (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, July 17. Disbursements of £3600 were made to various institutions and organisations in Southland by the Invercargill Licensing Trust. Last year the trust distributed £SOOO. The disbursements do not represent half the year’s profits, but the chairman (Mr H. Ritchie) said the profits were not as great this year as last year. Allocations, were: Southland Boy Scouts’ Association, £1100; Women’s Division of the Federated Farmers’ rest home at Riverton, £500; Southland Competitions Society, £250; Southland Bowliiws Centre, £250; Invercargill Amateur Cycling Club, £200; Battalion and Civic Bands, £2OO each; Southland Pipe Bands and Ladies’ Band, £2OO to be divided between them; Southland Regional Planning Council, £200; Men’s Hockey Association, £IOO to help in buying sticks and gear for primary schools; Waikiwi Sports Association, £100; Borstal Institution welfare fund £100; Plunket Society, £100; W.E.A., £IOO.
