BOXER COLLAPSES

title bout cancelled (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 16. The world fly-weight champion, Jackie Paterson, of Scotland, collapsed just before weighing in for a fight against Dado Marino, of Hawaii, tonight, for the title. The fight was fcaneelled. It was twice previously postponed because Paterson had an attack of boils. The Boxing Board of Control announced that Paterson had collapsed, but gave nb reason. He spent all yesterday and this morning trying to get down to the fly-weight limit of eight stone. It is believed that this is the reason for his collapse. A later message states that after Jackie Paterson collapsed, the Irish fly-weight champion, Rinty Monaghan, agreed to fight Marino at catchweights. ■ ’ . Marino to-night, at Hampden Park, Glasgow, giving Monagalian nearly half a stone, won in the ninth round after the referee had disqualified Monaghan for alleged persistent holding.
