SUGAR RELEASED

31b FOR MARMALADE-MAKING (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Dai'. The release of 31bs of sugar on each ration-book for makihg marmalade, during the next two months, is announced by the Minister of Supply (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer) to-day. He added that Coupon Y 23 would be valid without further notice for this amount of sugar from July 1 to August 31. “I am glad to be able to authorise an earlier allocation of sugar for marmalade this year to coincide with the supply of marmalade oranges,” said the Minister. "This is possible through a temporary easing in distribution problems, but it will be helpful if those not requiring their marmalade sugar immediately will wait until August before drawing it, and so assist in avoiding temporary shortages in those areas where stocks are low.”
