FIRST ROUND OF PRESIDENT’S TROPHY R. G. ROSS WINS BOG'EY MATCH The first round of the President’s Trophy was played by members of the Ashburton Golf Club on Saturday. A bogey match was held in conjunction with the other play was won by R. G. Ross. 1 The biggest number of players that have been on the greens for a considerable time were out on Saturday, and, while the course was in good order, scoring was not particularly good. The best cards returned in the bogey match were as follow: —R. G. Ross, all square; J. Russell, 3 down; N. E. Nottle and ,T. H. Browne, 4 down; A. Sutton, 5 down; H. W. Smallbone, B. Silverwood, W.
