BEATIFICATION OF VICTIM (Rec. 12.5.) VATICAN CITY, April 27 Alessandre Serenelli, <i convicted murderer, was not among the gieat crowd which attended St. Peter s Basilica for the beatification of lus victim, Maria Geretti, whom he stabbed to death in 1902. Serenelli served 27 years of his 30 years’ gaol sentence and entered a monastery. He had planned to attend the beatification in a monk s habit, but changed his mine? and spent the day in prayer and meditation. The girl’s 83-year-old mother attended the ceremony.
