BUDGET SECRETS

Inquiry Sought in House (Rec. 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 17, Lieutenant-Commander F. G. Braithwaite, in the House oL' Commons, to-day sought an inquiry into the alleged leakage of Budget information. He said that two hours before Dr. Dalton began his Budget address to the House on Tuesday, tlie prices of British celanese and courtauld rayon rose sharply. “I visited the market to find out why, and was told that there had been heavy and influential buying. Obviously someone had been talking. It was quite obvious someone had access to the Budget secrets, and had made use of the information for financial gain.” Mr O. Stanley said that he was sure the House could count on Dr. Dalton making the inquiry.
