LONDON SQUATTERS

TRIAL AT OLD BAILEY (Rec. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 30. i The trial began at the Old Bailey today of four men and one woman charged with conspiring to incite squatters to tresspass upon real property. All pleaded not guilty. Anthony Haw'ke, prosecuting, said the accused organised an invasion of private property. It was likely that they were actuated by the best possible feelings, and were genuinely distressed. The fact was that many people were homeless, but the point was that the method they adopted to right what they considered to be a wrong was an unlawful one. It was not suggested that they used any violence. They were perfectly orderly.
