No Atom Agreement with Veto (Rec. 9.30) NEW YORK, Oct. 29. “The United States will refuse to sign any atom bomb agreement which includes the power of veto,” said Mr Bernard Baruch (head of the Atomic Bomb Committee) in a speech to the “New York* Herald” forum. , “There will be no surrender of the bomb unless we know that,a!l other countries are prevented from doing the thing we would be giving up—making the bomb,” he added. “Are we to be the only ones to disarm? That way is suicide.” *
