PUBLIC SERVICE
COMMISSION TO BE APPOINTED ✓ __ (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A Public Service Commission, with a chairman and two other members, is planned in legislation which is likely to come before the present session of Parliament. The Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. W. Nash, at the Public Service Association conference yesterday said this- plan had been put to the Government by representatives of the Government on the association, who had considered future control of the service. The Government had wanted the opinion of the conference on the new plan for control. Members of the committee which considered the matter had agreed tentatively that of the two members in addition to the chairman, one should be nominated by the association to the Government for its approval and appointment. This mem her would become a member of the commission with full powers, but would not be responsible to the association. Mr Nash said he considered the proposal would tend to ease the load which had been borne in the past by the Public Service Commissioner.
