PALMERSTON NORTH SEAT (P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ Aug. 1. Mr A. E. Mansford has been selected by ballot as the National Party’s candidate for the Palmerston North seat. DUNEDIN NORTH (P.A.) DUNEDIN, August 1. Mr N. H. Jones, who was the National candidate at the Dunedin North by-election last year, will contest the seat for the National Party this year. His was the only nomination. INVERCARGILL ELECTORATE (P.A.) IN-VERCARGILL(, August 1. Mr J. R. Hanan has been selected as the National Party candidate for Invercargill. Mr G. F. M. Stewart, who had also been nominated, withdrew his nomination at a meeting of the Invercai’gill electorate committee of the party this evening. Mr Hanan is a solicitor and was Mayor of Invercargill when he joined the Army in 1940. He served with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force for about four years.
