MINERAL SURVEY
UNITED STATES AND ALASKA (Rec. 10.20) WASHINGTON, June 2. The Navy announced that aeroplanes equipped with a submarine detector surveyed 40,000 square miles of the United States and Alaska for minerals during the war. The detector quickly appraised possibilities in promising areas, which later were intensively prospected by ground parties.
