FROST OF 10.1 DEGREES The hardest frost for May, of 10.1 degrees, was recorded in Ashburton this morning. The sun shone during the day, but there was a chilly northerly breeze. The maximum temperature yesterday was 54.5 degrees, compared with 50.4 on Wednesday. The lowest temperature last night was 25.5 degrees (27.9). The barometer had to-day fallen to 29.8 inches, from 30.03 yesterday. OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, , at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone covering New Zealand and centred far east of th'e Ghathams, is moving away. Depressions are located near the Kermadecs and Tasmania. 5 The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows North-easterly winds becoming moderate to fresh at times. Weather fair to fine and cool, with sharp frosts. Further outlook: Fair.
