APPLICATION REFUSED
INDEPENDENT LABOUR PARTY (Rec. 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, March 27. The National Executive of the Labour Party refused the Independent Labour Party’s application for affiliation. Urging the annual conference ot the Labour Party decisively to endorse the National Executive’s refusal of the Communist Party’s renewed application for affiliation, the Executive stated that it was clear that the Communists’ real aim was to break up the Labour movement and so increase their own chances of establishing a dictatorship. There was no room inside the Labour Party for another with a separate constitution, policy and machinery.
