ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET «S> * ~ There was a short yarding of fat sheep at the fortnightly Ashburton stock market, to-day, and consequently prices were increased, compared with those at the previous sale. Values for wethers and ewes were advanced from 2s to 3s a head. The range for ewes was: Prime 21s to 25s Id; medium 19s to 20s 6d; light up to 18s. J. Anthony, of Racecourse Road, Ashburton, topped the market for lambs with one at 36s 6d. Wethers brought from 30s lOd to 37s Gd. The market for hoggets was topped by W. Kennedy, of Elgin, with three at 35s 7d. Principal sales up to noon were: Ewes. —On account W. J. Wells (Greenstreet,) 5 at 18s 4d, 5 at 21s 4d, 5 at 28s. 4d; Clients, 2 at 18s lOd, 11 at 23s 4d, 7 at 20s 7d, 6 at 22s 4d, 7 at 22s lOd, 2 at 23s lOd, C at 21s 4d, 6 at 21s Id, 12 at 14s lOd, 7 at 24s 4d -6 at 24s Id, 4 at 23s lOd, 5 at 25s Id, 7 at 24s Id, 6 at 22s 7d, 6 at 19s 7d, 12 at 13s Id, 8 at 16s Id. Lambs. —On account J. Anthony, (Ashburton), 1 at 36s 6d; Clients, 6 at 30s 4d, 2 at 32s lOd, 3 at 31s 4d, 1 at 29s 3d, 3 at 30s Id, 1 at 27s 3d, 1 at 34 s. Wethers. —On account of clients, 1 at 335, 7 at 32s 10d, 6 at 30s lOd, 5 at 34s 4d, 3 at 33s 4d, 1 at 35s 9d, 1 at 37s 6d, 3 at 34s lOd. 3 at 30s lOd, 5 at 35s Id, 5 at 32s Id. Hoggets.—On account W.
