GERMAN ELECTIONS
COMMUNISTS WELL BEATEN (Rec. 9.30) FRANKFURT, Jan. 21. Independent candidates with 5952 votes led in the returns from 95 towns and villages in the .Landkreis region of Alsfeld in the first free elections of town councillors. Left Wing Democrats secured 7430 votes and the Communists only .889. The Communists also failed to gain a single seat in the Kreis region of Rheingau.
