VERY WARM TO-DAY With scarcely any breeze, and bright sunshine', conditions in Ashburton to-day were very warm. The temperature at 2.30 this afternoon was 83.2 degrees. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 76.2 and 51.8 degrees', compared with 64.2 and 41.5 on Sunday. The barometer to-day had /fallen from 29.83 inches yesterday to 29.58.
PROBABLY FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following state(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. General situation: An anti-cyclone lies north of the Dominion, and a series of depressions are passing in the far south. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follow's: Fair and warm at first, with northwesters freshening to-morrow, but a change to cool south-westers with a few' showers during the afternoon. Further outlook: Probably fair.
