CURFEW LIFTED
ACTION IN BERLIN ABEL ' _ (Rec. 12.55 p.m.). BERLIN, Dec. 21. The Allied Military Government has lifted the curfew restrictions on German citizens in Berlin. A senior United States officer said the crime situation had improved sufficiently to warrant this step. The curfew would be imposed again if there was any noticeable increase in crime.
The British will take over direct control of all colleries in the British zone in Germany from to-morrow. The assets involved total hundreds of millions sterling. A controller will be appointed in charge of the assets of 68 colliery companies.
