OFFICERS HONOURED

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S AUXILIARY A social afternoon was held in the Church of Christ yesterday afternoon to honour Mrs Roolce and Miss Jeff who are retiring from the offices of president , and organist respectively, of the Christian Women’s Auxiliary, after many years of faithful service. Mrs Kingsbury presided.

The hymn “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night,” was followed by the presentation of a. floral spray to each guest by Mrs Dolbey. Mrs Chambers gave a helpful reading on “Hands.”

Miss Jeff sang a solo,- “This is My Task.”

Humorous impressions of a child were given by each sister, followed by Mrs Rooke’s favourite hymn “God Holds the Key.”

Mrs Kingsbury then presented each guest with a gift and outlined the good work done by both. . Mrs Rooke and Miss Jeff suitably replied. The singing of “Blest be the Tie that Binds,” was followed by the C.W.A. benediction.

Afternoon tea was served; hostesses being Mrs Hookings, Mrs Clelland and Miss Armstrong.
