HINDS SCHOOL
ANNUAL BREAK-UP CONCERT
A concert presented by pupils at the annual break-up ceremony of the Hinds School was well received. The chairman of the School Committee presented the teachers with sprays and congratulated them on the efforts of the children a.t entertaining. Dancing to music by Mr W. Taylor followed the concert, items in winch were as follows: Senior school, song; “How’cl you like to he a baby girl,” P. 4 and Std. 1 girls; Rhymes and Rhythms, inlands; “The Two Darkies.” L. Winding and J. Tail:; “An Interlude,” Stds. l and 2; “The Awkward Squad,” Stds. 3,and 4; “Ten Little Nigger Boys,” Stds. 2, 3 and 4; song and dance, M. Donaldson ; ballet, J. Betts, J. Lamb, P. Stead, N. Mee. T. .Turner and D ; Robertson; “The Perfect Servant, G. Carlyle, B. Hawke, N. Lamb and P. Shaw. The final act was a victory pageant. The countries were most realistically represented in song, verse and dance, as follows: England, L. Holland, N. Edgar and D. Mee; Scotland, K. Davidson and M. Wilson; Ireland, P. Gill and G. Chi snail; Canada, P. Stead and Janice Lamb; South Africa, J. Farrell and R. Nickalls; India, I. Barker and A. Fleet; Russia. P. Shaw. S. Howden, S. Bird, G. Wilson, N. Til son and Marion Donaldson-, America, L. Andrew, B. Nickall, K. Chisnall and A. Mackie; China, N. Edgar; Australia, H. King and K. Donaldson; New Zealand, M. Uobertson, J. Forsythe, A. Hawke, A. Casey, N; Henderson and V. Robertson; Peace, Gwen Tilson. Kevin Whiting was the announcer.
