CHILDREN GIVE ITEMS. A successful meeting of the Tinwald Band of Hope was held in the linwald Town Hall, Mr .7. McGeagh presiding. Mr McEldowney, of Christchurch, gave a talk on his work in social seivice. . T Items included recitations by Joan and Fay Skilling, June Ward, Mary Harkness, Nancy Bellow, Margaret Harkness, Eylane Oldridge and Noeline Moffatt; songs by Grahame and Fay Skilling. George and Edward Ward, Mary Skilling and Patty Millichamp, Joy Skilling and Noeline Kennedy; part songs by Mary Harkness, Vonnie and Patty Millichamp and Mary Skilling. Nancy Tarbotton, Ann Millichamp, Noeline Moffat and Margaret Harkness; a song by Audrey Kennedv, a mandolin solo by Miss Wakelin and a duet by Misses McLay and M. Smith. Other contributors were Audrey and Eileen Kennedy, Mary and Margaret Harkness and Joan Skilling (dialogue), Eonnie and Noeline Kennedy, Bruce Koberts and Elvira Skilling. The children recited the temperance alphabet and pledge.
