PATIENT INJURED.
MALE NURSE FOUND GUILTY. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 29. “Guilty of common assault with a recommendation to leniency on account of provocation,” was the verdict returned by the jury in the Supreme Court in the case against John William Alexander Wardle, a male nurse, aged 30. Wardle was charged with assaulting Neil Oliver Moore so as to cause him actual bodily harm while Moore was a. patient in the Wellington Hospital. The jury reduced the charge to common assault and returned its verdict atfer a retirement of one hour. Wardle was remanded for sentence to-morrow. Mr Justice Blair was on the Bench. The prosecution was conducted by Mr W. H. Cunningham, Crown Prosecutor, and Mr T. A. Tarrant appeared for accused.
