WARNING IGNORED.
POWER SUPPLY CUT OFF. (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 29. Warned six days ago that it was one of the first six supply authorities to default by exceeding its allowable increases in electricity consumption, the South Taranaki Power Board had its Government supply of bulk power disconnected this afternoon. Considerable inconvenience was caused throughout the district. Arrangements were made for the cut-off to be staggered over the hoard’s area. The engineering workshops at Hawera and some other factories in south Taranaki were among those most affected by the disconnections.
