MAY 28, 1900 —Britain annexed Orange Free State. 1930 —Mr Forbes’ Cabinet sworn in. 1940 —King Leopold ordered Belgian Army to capitulate to Germans against will of Cabinet. 1943 — Commencement of the battle for Kuban -bridgehead. 1944 — General MacArtliur announces re-conquest or neutralisation of the Solomons, Bismarcks, Admiralties and New Guinea.
