LIGHT SHOWERS OF RAIN. A light shower of rain fell at Ashburton this morning, after which the sun shone periodically. One point, of rain fell in the night. This morning 2.2 degrees of frost were recorded. There was a maximum temperature of 52.1 degrees yesterday, compared with 57.8 on Monday. The minimum was 35.9 (33.). A jump to 29.67 inches from 29.01 yesterday was shown by the barometer this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast lor the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:—• Fresh south-westerly winds, later decreasing and becoming variable. Weather changeable, with occasional passing showers on the coast, but becoming fair to-morrow. Temperatures cold with frosts in sheltered positions. Further outlook: Fair.
