THE TINWALD SCHOOL.
SICKNESS AFFECTS ATTENDANCE
Attendances at the Tinwald School had been affected by sickness, stated the report of the Headmaster (Mr 0. D. Sewell) presented at tbe meeting of the committee last evening. The rollnumber was 152. A drill display would he given by the pupils, and a basketball match played at the “bring-and-buy” fair next Thursday. Regret was expressed by the committee at the impending departure of Miss Romans, who has accepted a permanent appointment and will leave at the end of the term.
Tho formation of a school garden club was discussed, and it was decided to consider forming a club in tho spring.
The Canterbury Education Board advised that paint would be supplied to paint the tables and chairs in the infant room, and that the plans and specifications for the new school residence wero being prepared.
It was stated that the dental nurse would recommence her duties at the school to-morrow.
Those present were: Messrs J. H. Harper (chairman). S. H. Lill, J. B. Stevenson, R. J. Tarbotton and J. Lowerv, the headmaster and the secretary (Miss E. Hitchins).
