WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

WILLOWBY-EIFFELTON MEETING.

The moil tidy meeting of the AVillow-by-Eiffeltqn Women’s Institute was a combined birthday party and complimentary social to the winning competition house—Crossman House—given by Taylor and Liil Houses, Mrs S. P. Taylor and Miss M. AL- Lill being in charge.

Airs Pearce, pho presided, welcomed visitors from Ashburton and Waterton.

Choruses were sung by ATesdames Chapman, Taylor, Shaw and Aliases AX. Chapman, J. Taylor, Al. Al. Lill and H. Lill; a piano solo was given by Aliss F. Pearce and trios by Airs D. Shaw and Misses M. Al. Lill and H. Lill.

Greetings were received from Ashburton and Ashton - Waterton Institutes.

A birthday cake was on tho table, sealed and packed to send to an overseas soldier. Afternoon tea was served.

Competitions resulted: Bloom, Airs Pratley 1, Miss Al. Chapman 2, Airs R. Chapman 3. Autumn leaves, Miss BratIcy 1, Aliss Al. Lill 2, Airs R. Pearce 3. Jam, Airs Hollow and Aliss Bratley (equal) 1, Mrs H. Oakley and Airs S. P. Taylor (equal) 2, Airs Crossnmn and Airs Knox (equal) 3. Ginger nuts, to he sent to soldiers’ hospital,Airs Hollow and Aliss K. Johnston (equal) 1, Airs S. P. Taylor and Aliss Al. Chapman (equal) 2, Airs W. Harvey and Airs Alaginness (equal) 3. Antiques, Airs H. Crossman 1, Airs R. J. Chapman and Miss Al. Chapman (equal) 2, Mrs R. Knox and Aliss Bratley (equal) 3,. Over 25 dozen biscuits were sent to a hospital.
