HARMONICA BANDS.

ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Harmonica Bands’ Association was held in Christchurch. .during tho week-end, the president (Mr Cairns) presiding. The following bands were represented: St. Anne’s, Centennial, Skipper's, Enterprise (Christchurch), Port Chalmers, Timaru Girls’, Ashburton Imperial. The chairman in his annual report outlined tho activities of the Association last year. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £l4 12s.

The election of officers resulted: —■ Patron, Mr A. S. Grounds; president, Mr Ward; vice-presidents, Messrs Erdnian, Skinner, Oakes and Cairns; treasurer, Mr Roden; secretary, Mr Harney.

Air A. Thomson, who has been secretary for the last three years, did not seek re-election owing to business reasons and was voted £3 3s for his services. All tho delegates spoke highly of the efficient manner in which ho had carried out his duties.

The Harmonica Band Rally to bo held in Ashburton on cither May 23 or 30 was fully discussed and there is every possibility of all bands attending. The proceeds will he in aid of the local patriotic funds.
