THE TINWALD MEETING. I
The Tiiiwald Women’s Institute met in the‘Parish Hall, the joint president (Mrs 08.. Stigley)- presiding over a good attendance.
The roll call, “Awkward moments,” was well responded to. Mrs Christie gave an interesting report on the annual meeting of the Mid-Canterbury Federation.
An invitation was received from the Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union to attend the meeting on May 13 when the Rev. J. S. Murray will be the speaker. Mrs Rodd was appointed delegate to the South Island Conference. A vote of thanks was accorded Mesdames C. Gluestein and A. Rodd for printing the programmes. Pioneer tales were read by Mrs E. Stigley. The competitions resulted:—Scones, Mrs Lundy 1, Mrs Cleeve 2, Mrs Taylor 3; marigolds, Mrs Lundy 1, Mrs Barr 2, Mrs Cleeve 3; bloom, Mrs Aldridge 1, Mrs Brown 2, Mrs Christie 3.
The hostesses were Mesdames Rodd, Christie and Aldridge.
